This unique collection is an assortment of New Jersey centered historic documents, maps, atlases, and Rare Books from the 18th, 19th and 20th Centuries.

New Jersey and Rare Books
This collection includes more than 1000 books related to New Jersey, including some very old titles that are quite rare. The majority are dated from the 20th century and at least a quarter are from the 18th and 19th centuries. Topics include early settlement, Native Americans, the American Revolution, town histories and anniversaries, church histories, genealogy resources, and early children's books published in New Jersey. Titles can be found in the library catalog under the location "Special Book Collection" at the Kean Library websiteBooks cannot be checked out and must be viewed under the supervision of the archivist. Some are fragile and will require special handling. Reproducing pages may be possible, depending on the condition of the book.
